Stamped Concrete: A Better Choice Than Paving Bricks!

Are you a homeowner looking for a new and hip way to spice up your outdoor living space? Looking for a new patio, driveway or carport? Is your business looking drab and you need something new and fresh? If so, you’ve come to the right place.  Fuller Excavating wants you to push aside the idea of traditional brick pavers and start seriously considering stamped concrete. You’ve never heard of it? Well, you’re in luck. Fuller Excavating is the company you’re looking for to improve the outlook of your home or business.   Stamped concrete is a continuous concrete surface that has been “stamped” to look like brick pavers, stone and even wood.

Why should you choose stamped concrete over the traditional brick pavers? Stamped concrete is ideal for anyone living in the North Country. In the winter, frost heaves and the cold temperatures can deform brick pavers. Another draw back of pavers is the space left in between. These will ultimately leads to weeds and grass growing in between the pavers and tarnishing the look of your brand new patio or driveway. The solution is easy. Stamped concrete will save you time and energy as stamped concrete has no actual “cracks” and the lines are simply part of the design.

Now that we’ve touched on a few of the benefits of stamped concrete, let’s talk aesthetics. Traditionally many people thought that brick pavers were much more pleasing than a simple slab of concrete and I wouldn’t necessarily disagree. However, stamped concrete is not simply a slab of concrete thrown down. Although stamped concrete will never be identical to the surface it is intended to mimic, modern advance in stamping allows the concrete to look so close to the surface it is imitating that a trained eye would be needed to tell the difference. Because of the look of stamped concrete along with the other benefits mentioned before many homeowners and businesses are choosing stamped concrete over outdated brick pavers.

Finally, if you’re looking to add some style to your stamped concrete there are many different color options to leave your home or office looking updated and beautiful!

If you’re in the market for a new patio, driveway or carport give us a call and discuss your options. We strongly believe that stamped concrete will be a great opportunity to improve the look to your home or office.

Insulated Concrete Forms (I.C.F)

At Fuller Excavating we know that in these economic times everyone is trying to get the most for their money. When building a new home or office the amount of decisions to be made can seem overwhelming. Let us make an easy one for you when you choose to begin your project with an I.C.F. (Insulated Concrete Forms).

There are many reasons why I.C.Fs are the best choice.  But, first you might be asking what exactly is an I.C.F? An I.C.F is a hollow, light-weight, made to stay in place form that is created using two Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) panels connected by polypropylene webs. They are then stacked and filled with concrete that results in durable, sustainable, and stable walls.

The I.C.F provides structure, insulation, a vapor barrier, sound barrier and attachments that make adding drywall and exterior siding a cinch! And that is just the beginning! The I.C.F wall is known to last over four times longer than the normal constructed walls. Also, there are no limits to the I.C.F walls and they can be used for residential or commercial properties of any size or shape.

The product is another “green” option for homeowners and they can drastically reduce energy costs because no additional insulation is needed inside or outside of the wall. These structures use 30%-50% less energy to heat and cool when used with other energy saving products. You might be thinking that this all sounds good, but what about when I go to actually build the interior of my home? Will I need to frame the inside before I can put sheetrock up? The answer is no. No additional interior framing is necessary. The sheetrock can be screwed right into the I.C.F saving time and money.

On top of the energy efficiency, the I.C.F is also wind, fire, insect and rodent resistant. Clearly an I.C.F is the perfect way to start a new building project. It’s benefits will last lifetimes. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. Also, check out our current I.C.F project on Mirror Lake in Lake Placid.

Norweco Singular Green System

Are you in the market for a new house? What about an updated septic system? If you answered yes to either of those questions, Fuller’s Excavating is the company for you. Also, why you’re at it why not go green? Everyone is doing it.

There are many benefits to the Norweco Singular GreenSystem. First and foremost, not only is the system much more efficient and environmentally friendly (that’s where the GREEN comes in), but it’s life expectancy is longer than that of a concrete tank. The leach field life is prolonged because of the aerobic environment inside the tank! This allows a more favorable environment for the bacteria to grow in and prevents clogging in the drain-field because the bacteria are continuously working.

The design of The Norweco Green System is extremely unique. The multi-directional ribbed design is extremely durable, leak-proof and corrosion resistant. It is also UV stabilized. It is also the only septic system that uses polyethylene single-tank technology with pretreatment, flow equalization and disinfection! Talk about all-in-one. The system treats up to 600 GPD and is ANSI/NSF Standard 40 certified.

It all sounds pretty good, right? You’re probably wondering…we’ll that’s good and all, but what about my property? Put your worries aside. This system can be used in the most difficult of locations including limited site access and steep grades. What about installation, you ask? That is even easier. Two people and a single backhoe can install the entire Norweco Singular Green System. It’s as easy as that!

Clearly the Norweco Singular Green system is something worth looking into. Not only will it save you money, you’ll be doing your part in saving the environment!

Look for a system we are installing soon on Lake Shore Rd in Plattsburgh just before Bluff Point Golf Course!
